Innocence, Pain & Growth

This is the final project for my Bachelor in Communication Design. It is a book called Innocence, Pain and Growth that features a carefully-curated collection of works I made along my journey since 2011. Different media such as painting, photography (especially self-portraiture), collage and poetry are combined in three main chapters.
In »The Vulnerable Child« I gathered the kind of works that show my inner child: the state of a young soul that is still inexperienced and unformed, confused and looking for direction.
The second chapter called »The Wound« deals with loneliness, fear, dissociation and insecurity. At the end of school time I developed depressional symptoms, where art was my greatest support. It has been very helpful to communicate my inner conflicts in a creative way.
With the support of both therapy and my partner, my self-image, my sense of identity and my goals in life have improved. In the last chapter, which is called »To Become«, the works show something more peaceful, dreamy and future-oriented, but also an awareness of the vulnerable child in me and an acceptance towards the never-entirely-vanishing darkness.
Within, one can also find a little personal interview. In general, this book serves as an atmospheric insight into my universe.
